A lively, compact coastal prefecture, Fukuoka is a melting pot of delicious local cuisine, much of which is influenced by other regions and countries. Local yatai food stalls are the go-to spot for yakitori meat skewers, ramen or drinks. It is also famous for Dazaifu Tenmangu, a shrine dedicated to the legendary scholar Michizane Sugawara.
