Hiroshima

The prefecture's most iconic spots are Hiroshima's A Bomb Dome, the World Cultural Heritage Site that marks the city's devastation by a nuclear bomb in 1945 and calls for peace, and Miyajima's floating torii shrine gate. But the prefecture also has sandy beaches, historic sites and a thriving food scene that has originated many local specialties including okonomiyaki savoury pancakes.
