Ishikawa
Nestled between the Sea of Japan and a cluster of mountain peaks, Ishikawa has stunning views of both land and sea. The prefectural capital, Kanazawa, is affectionately called “Little Kyoto” thanks to its rich artistic and cultural history, including ceramics and lacquerware industries dating from the 17th century. Today, the city is also a hub for contemporary art.
