Okinawa: Northern Area

Northern Okinawa’s Yanbaru region is part of Japan’s newest UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site, thanks to its semitropical mangroves inhabited by rare species endemic to Okinawa. The area also boasts spectacular views of mountains, forests and the sea. Further south is Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium and Kouri Island, where the oceans are so clear they look aquamarine.
